President Trump has  put together a peace plan which would  lead to the end to the  Gaza war, a Western source told the Lebanese media site Elnashra on Wednesday, only a day after US President Donald Trump met with the leaders of Muslim countries.

The plan reportedly includes a 20-day ceasefire followed by the return of the hostages. It is unclear in the report, however, how many of the 48 hostages would be returned at this stage of the deal.

Other sources told the Lebanese paper that the Muslim leaders attending the meeting with Trump were supportive of the American president's proposal. Still, they were reportedly awaiting a response from Hamas and Israel to see if the proposal could be fruitful.
The Emirati state news agency WAM reported on Wednesday that releasing all hostages and taking steps towards addressing the worsening humanitarian crisis in the war-torn enclave were priority points at the meeting.

Trump promised Arab leaders he would not let Israel annex the West Bank, an area governed by the Palestinian Authority, Politico reported on Wednesday, citing six people familiar with the matter.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and included leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan, WAM added.

On Wednesday evening, Reuters cited US special envoy Steve Witkoff as saying the US was "hopeful ... even confident that in the coming days we'll be able to announce some sort of breakthrough" on the war in Gaza,

He said President Donald Trump's 21-point peace plan had been presented to some leaders on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
