Sexual Assault: FBI raids Calif. mansion

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reportedly raided a mansion in California as part of an investigation into disgraced former Democrat Representative Eric Swalwell.
The raid was conducted on Tuesday morning at the home of billionaire Stephen Cloobeck, who was a prominent sponsor of Swalwell’s California gubernatorial run this year, according to media reports.
After several reports of sexual assault and misconduct allegations came out against Swalwell in April — including from a staffer — Cloobeck and several other supporters pulled their endorsements of the congressman.
Cloobeck also later evicted Swalwell from his Beverly Hills property, where he previously allowed the congressman to stay “out of concern for his mental well-being” throughout the scandal.
In light of the “heinous” nature of the numerous allegations plaguing Swalwell, Cloobeck said he would withdraw the approximately $1 million he had donated to the Swalwell campaign and declared he would now rather be known as a Libertarian — distancing himself from the Democrat Party.
“F***ing tell everyone I’m a Libertarian. F*** you, Democrat Party. I’m a Libertarian now,” he told the New York Post. “I am no longer associated with a man that takes advantage of women. I support women’s rights.”
The day before news of the eviction broke, Swalwell, 45, pulled out of the California governors’ race and resigned from Congress, though he still maintained his claims of innocence.
“These allegations of sexual assault are flat false…They did not happen. They have never happened. And I will fight them with everything that I have,” he said in a social media video at the time.
Swalwell previously frequented the mansion, located at 1014 North Roxbury Drive, even filming a video responding to the misconduct allegations while inside the residence.
The raid in California comes after the FBI also raided Swalwell’s Washington, D.C., home in August amid the federal sexual misconduct investigation. On the same day, agents confronted him at the San Francisco International Airport and seized his cellphone and laptop. Reports noted that he was briefly detained as officers carried out a search warrant and released him the same day.
