SUPER FALCON AT ROUND 16

Nigeria are through to the round of sixteen of the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup in France after Chile could only manage a 2-0 win against Thailand in a Group F clash at Roazhon Park, Rennes on Thursday night.
Although the South Americans finished with three points, they have an inferior goal difference of -3, compared to the Super Falcons' -2.
In the ranking of the four best third-placed teams from the six groups, the Thomas Dennerby-led side finished fourth which was enough to see them through to the last 16.
Nigeria would have qualified before Chile and Thailand took to the pitch but Cameroon's Ajara Nchout scored in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time and their patient waiting game had to continue.
This is the second time in history the Super Falcons have reached the knockout rounds of the World Cup and the first in twenty years.
The Africa champions will face Group B winners, Germany at the Stade des Alpes, Grenoble on Saturday, June 22.
