Trump announces eight Iranian female prisoners will not be executed at his request

US President Donald Trump claimed he was informed by Iranian authorities that the eight women due to be executed tonight will not be killed, the president wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

Four of them will be released immediately, and the other four will be sentenced to one month in prison, he wrote.

Trump claimed responsibility for the lifting of the death sentence, based on a previous post where he told Iranian authorities that not executing the prisoners would be a "great start to our negotiations."
