The shutdown aimed to change the war narrative inside Iran, with Iranians only being able to access official government pages and state-linked news agencies, while only a few officials were authorized to post freely on the Internet.

The Internet shutdown in Iran lasted over 1000 hours, since it was imposed by the regime on the day the war broke out, Netblock reported.
